Data-Driven Process Modelling in Forming Technology

DFG Priority Programme (SPP 2422)

This goal is to be achieved through interdisciplinary collaboration between institutes of metal forming technology, automation and data science working in the fields of process development, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. The originality of the research content is emphasised by the fact that already established data science methods are used for modelling in order to address specific challenges of forming technology applications.

The interdisciplinary design framework between forming technology, automation and data science ensures that mathematically generic representations of forming operations can be defined and modelled. At the same time, it is expected that these can be specifically validated in the corresponding forming domain in order to generate new knowledge from the derived models.
