Development of an efficient luminaire with integrated passive cooling technology, including requirements-based production technology

Tool and initial pressing tests

The aim of this cooperation project is to develop a future-oriented LED luminaire with integrated, energy-efficient cooling technology. In particular, the new LED luminaire should be characterized by a long service life and high performance with low heat generation and be able to be used as a technical luminaire with low energy consumption. The new luminaire body is essentially characterized by unique thermal management and an innovative design. These goals are to be achieved by developing components that are tailored to the entire luminaire body. In particular, a new lamp housing with requirement-related cooling technology in combination with a passive cooling system is to be successfully realized. The innovative core of the project consists of designing the lamp housing according to new target criteria and demonstrating its production feasibility using prototype parts. For the innovative luminaire geometry to be developed and its components, an economical production technology is also to be developed and implemented. For this purpose, a combined cold extrusion process and surface finishing will be used in cooperation with the industrial partner.
