Students of mechanical engineering who wish to continue to receive financial support must have their performance assessed in accordance with §48 BAföG after the 4th semester of the Bachelor's programme. These certificates of achievement are only issued in person and only by prior appointment in the teaching department of the institute. You can download the necessary form for the Studentenwerk at the bottom of the page. Please fill it out at home. Dates of the performance exhibition:

• By the 4th month of the 4th semester. In this case, you will receive a certificate of achievement for the "standard of achievement at the end of the 3rd semester". You must be able to provide proof of at least 51 credit points.
• In the 5th and 6th month of the 4th subject-related semester You will receive a certificate of achievement at this time for the "standard of achievement at the end of the 3rd subject-related semester" if you can provide evidence of at least 51 CP. During this period, you will also receive the following certificate for submission to Student Services: "At the present time, the achievements at the end of the 4th semester cannot yet be confirmed, as the achievements of the current semester could not yet be checked or documented for organisational reasons.".
• In the first four months of the 5th semester, you will then receive a certificate of the "standard level of achievement at the end of the 4th semester": "at the end of the 4th semester", for which you must be able to prove 60 credit points. In this case, you will only receive your funding retroactively from the start of the 5th semester.
• Special case: examinations brought forward Students who are studying quickly and have therefore brought examinations forward can receive a certificate of "the usual level of achievement at the end of the 4th semester" (60 CP) after the 3rd semester.

Important: Please bring the following documents with you to your agreed appointment for the issue of the BAföG certificate of achievement:

• Extract of grades with credit points from the examination office
• Completed form "Certificate of achievement according to §48 BAföG"
• Valid student ID card,
• Proof of your examination results
• If available: Bachelor's degree certificate
