Forum Umformtechnik Stuttgart e.V.

The development of personal contacts, the professional exchange of information on current market developments and also insights into company structures and process chains among the members are the main areas of work of the Forum Umformtechnik Stuttgart.

The Forum Umformtechnik Stuttgart e.V. was founded on 24 November 1980 as a non-profit association by the then Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr.-Ing. K. Lange and a large group of companies associated with the Institute. The main aim of the association is to promote the scientific work of the Institute of Forming Technology (IFU) at the University of Stuttgart. However, the association not only promotes the exchange of ideas between the institute and its member companies, but also concrete technological developments and bilateral technology transfer between research and industry.

At the annual general meeting and other networking events, members are regularly informed about ongoing research projects at the Institute of Forming Technology and are involved in the development of future projects. In this way, the member companies have direct access to the latest knowledge and the international status of developments in a specific field of forming technology. The association currently has around 60 members from the fields of steel production, automotive engineering, simulation, press construction and manufacturing companies.

Joining the Forum Umformtechnik Stuttgart e.V. is done by submitting an application for membership. The annual membership fee is fully tax-deductible due to the non-profit status of the association.
