The Institute of Metal Forming Technology at the University of Stuttgart has been conducting research on an international level for decades in the field of research and development of forming processes and procedures in sheet metal and solid forming. Research tasks and projects are initiated and funded in direct bilateral cooperation with the public sector and with industrial partners from the automotive industry, steel manufacturers and well-known manufacturing companies. The expertise of the institute is particularly characterized by extensive basic research, a practical, hands-on approach to work, and extensive training in a university environment.
