Working Group for the Development and Research of Cold Extrusion

The "Working Group for the Development and Research of Cold Forming" has been involved in the new and further development of the cold extrusion of steel alloys since 1963. Since 2006, technological issues relating to the cold forging of aluminium alloys have also been addressed.

Working Group for the Development and Research of Cold Forming

The working group for the development and research of cold forming is currently made up of 31 well-known European and South American companies in the cold forming industry. The members of the working group include forming companies, plant and tool manufacturers for forming technology, steel manufacturers, lubricant suppliers and sales partners for simulation software.

In addition to the industrial companies, the working group also includes two university institutes and two technical-scientific associations. All members of the working group meet at least once a year at the Institute of Forming Technology or at one of the companies to be informed about completed research work. In addition to completed research work, new research projects and future research priorities of the working group are discussed and determined. The results of the research work are exclusively available to the members of the working group. In addition, all members receive a copy of all dissertations completed at the Institute of Forming Technology. The amount of the annual membership fee of the Working Group for the Development and Research of Cold Forming is not specified in the statutes. This is determined individually by each member of the working group on the basis of their own assessment and amounts to € 1,000 per year for small companies and up to € 5,000 for larger companies.
